Adult Basic Education and Training 

• Seminar on Eating Disorders; Very often unresolved trauma and pain play a very important role regarding eating disorders. With such persons there is a reservoir of pain as well as repressed emotions and needs that have never been addressed.  This seminar will help people understand this complex reality, give guidance to those dealing with such a challenge, and equip those attending with guidelines how to support and help other. The seminar is also offered in Afrikaans.

Capacity Building and Local Government

• National Certificate: Municipal Integrated Development Planning; The seven week skills programme, which is divided into a week class-room training component and a six week work-based assignment component, is designed to equip individuals to participate in and contribute to the Municipal Intergrated Development Planning Process in an effective manner.

• Basic Course on Computer Literacy; The course targets the Mamelodi community with the objective of introducing participants to the basics of the computer using the most recent and popular Microsoft Office Automation tools. The classes are offered in top-of-the range Computer Laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art technology.

• Advanced Course on Computer Training; This advanced course aims to target the local community with the objective of improving their knowledge and skills of computer hardware and software. A prerequisite of attending the Advance Computer Literacy Course is that delegates should have successfully completed the Basic Computer Literacy Course.

Counselling and Therapeutic Intervention

• Short Course in Trauma Counselling;  This course equips pastors and counsellors to guide people towards emotional and spiritual healing after traumatic experiences.

• Basic Course in Counselling Addicted Persons and their Friends and Families;  This course aims to help dedicated people to increase their knowledge of the topic. This will enable them to function more effectively dealing with children and adolescents with addiction and related problems.

• Short Course on Play Therapy with the Traumatised Child; This course equips the professional to better understand and communicate with a child on the child's own development level during intervention. Play techniques are introduced as a means of improved assessment and treatment of the traumatised child.

• Advanced Short Course in Play Therapy; This course equips the professional to understand and practically integrate play therapy knowledge and techniques from the Gestalt approach for application with the traumatised child.

Gender Studies

• Short Course on Sexuality and Gender; The course is based on a co-operative learning model, which views learning not as a passive process of digesting and storing given information, but as an active process of developing understanding of one's world and of oneself.  This course focuses on explore existing perceptions, conventions and myths in relation to femininity and masculinity and identify aspects of gender behaviour that evoke risk and harm.

• Short Course in Gender Mainstreaming; This course is based on a co-operative learning model , which views learning not as a passive process of digesting and storing given information , but as an active process of developing understanding of one's world and oneself. Workshop focus on gender sensitivity, implementation of gender mainstreaming in South Africa and the understanding of gender mainstreaming and skills associated with its implementation. 

Pastoral Care

• Basic Course in Building up the Local Church; Congregational development is a challenging task. Ministries are diverse and so the membership. To integrate and co-ordinate all that happens in a local church, to give direction in how to formulate mission statements and how to lead the process of building up a local church is indeed challenging and even complex. This course trains and motivates pastors and other key leaders to edify and equip (build up) the local church as demanded by contemporary society. 

• Basic Course in Pastoral Care; The course trains and motivates pastors and key leaders to provide more effective pastoral care in the South African context.

• Burnout in the Ministry; There is a cost to caring. In the ministry this statement is especially true and applicable. At the heart of the burnout syndrome is a pattern of emotional overload with the little reward or appreciation. Often this is accompanied by feelings of helplessness. This seminar will help to understand burnout. It will guide people how to diagnose burnout within themselves and give guidance in how to deal with it in your own life and in those of other.

Theology

• Advanced Course in Building up the Local Church; This course trains and motivates pastors and other key leaders to build up the local church in accordance with the demands of Scripture and contemporary society and to develop the skills needed to lead a local church to 'build itself up through love'.

• Advanced Course in Preaching; This course trains and motivates pastors to communicate more effectively when preaching the Gospel in a South African context.

• Advanced Course in Pastoral Counselling; From time to time we all suffer pain and hurt. Such pain and hurt may take many forms: the death of a family member, a divorce, a hijacking or some other trauma. Christian leaders cannot escape the challenge to become involved. This involvement and support ministry, are called pastoral care and counselling. The purpose of this course is to equip pastors and pastoral caregivers for effective pastoral care in the South African context, with the aim of facilitating emotional, relational and spiritual healing.

• Basic Course in Preaching; Preaching is at its least public communication of the good news of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God . Public communication is not only a huge responsibility but also a highly complex expertise. The course will motivates and trains pastors to communicate more effectively in the preaching the Gospel in a South African context. The course is open to anyone interested in preaching.

• Basic Course in Youth Ministry; Ministering to children and young people in the South African society is a real challenge. This course trains and motivates pastors to provide an effective ministry to children, teenagers and young adults within the South African context. This is a one year course presented twice a week.

• Advanced  Course in Youth Ministry; Working with children and adolescents has become one of the most challenging ministries in faith communities. Many even shy away from this because of the complex nature of the youth scene and what goes with it. Some others approach youth without ever considering why they do what they do. The course trains and motivates pastors and other key leaders to understand youth ministry as an inclusive congregational involvement with youth and how to minister more effectively to children, teenagers and young adults within the South African context.

• Faithful Witnesses; This course equips delegates with the skills to teach others, focusing on faith sharing and interpersonal communication of the Gospel in a relational and non-confrontational way.

• Seminar on Sexuality; To equip pastors and counsellors to be able to understand and support and guide people who have been through sexual abuse and/or abortion (and/or miscarriage and /or stillbirth).

• Basic Short Course in Stewardship and Church Financial Planning; Delegates will be introduced to financial terminology and will be coached to analyse and interpret financial statements. A thorough study of the budgeting process will be made. Tips will be given on the handling of everyday issues like securing cash, auditing, adhering to the new rules of the Receiver of Revenue.

• Advanced Course in Stewardship and Church Financial Planning; Administration as such, and even more so financial administration, is often a neglected ministry in churches. Everyone, however, agrees how important it is. Leadership in local faith communities are indeed stewards of the money members put aside for the ministries they are involved in. The objectives of this course are to introduce and explain financial terminology and to coach delegates to analyse and interpret financial statements, to study and understand the budgeting process and to handle everyday issues like securing cash, auditing and adhering to the new rules of the Receiver of Revenue. 

• Effective Christian Education and Leadership; Members of local faith communities often find themselves in ministries like teaching Sunday school without any specific training for such a responsibility. The same is true for leadership positions members got elected for. This three year course gives down to earth training for Sunday school teachers and other leaders in churches in effective Christian Education programmes and leadership.

• Interim Ministry; This course aims to train pastors of different denominations as interim pastors for assisting congregations with temporary vacancies. After completing this course, delegates will be able to give effective guidance to a congregation during a traumatised- or transition-period. This course is also offered in Afrikaans.
